The High Brightness (HB) Wallstand Gas Spring is used to tilt or lock the wall stand detector Bucky in its position. It is a type of mechanical spring that consists of a piston inserted into an enclosed cylinder that is filled with compressed gas. When the piston rod is forced into the cylinder, the gas inside is pressurized, thus energy is stored in the cylinder. The vertical detector load is balanced by a gas spring counterpoise system within the carriage. It is equipped with a safety-locking feature to prevent keep the unit from falling in the event of a spring or main cable failure. This spring is part of a wide range of medical equipment including XR Revolution XR/d, XR Discovery XR656, XR (SURGERY) OEC FLUOROSTAR 7900, XR Proteus XR/a, XF Precision 500D, XV Innova 3100, XR Discovery XR650 and XR Definium 8000 systems.
